Hello and Welcome,
I have been practicing massage therapy for over 17 years. A graduate of Potomac Massage Training Institute. I am licensed through the Maryland Board of Health. I have a lovely studio in Takoma Park MD. I specialize in Integrated Therapeutic Massage where I may combine many different modalities into a session. Modalities such as but not limited to; Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial release, Trigger point, hydrotherapy, reflexology, sport/rehab therapy. I integrate self care techniques and exercise suggestions into my sessions. By listening to the clients needs, goals, health history and day to day behavior we build a session. During the session just as much information is being received by me, I have a conversation with the body. I listen to the soft tissue and the rhythms of all the body systems. This is how I choose what techniques and approaches I will use in each session.
What is Massage Therapy?
Massage Therapy is a manipulation of soft tissue, mainly focusing on the muscles of the body. An organic cream will be used to allow the Massage Therapist's hands, forearms and elbows to glide over the skin without discomfort. You will be properly and completely covered during the massage, only the area being worked will be undraped. Please see "Commonly Asked Questions" for further information on receiving massage.
Massage and bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Massage and bodywork is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being.
Payments accepted: Cash, Venmo (a wonderful FREE app that allows you to transfer money with no fees and securely), Zelle (a bank to bank money transfer) and occasionally checks. Gratuity is appreciated but not expected. A one hour massage (60 full minutes on the table) is standard; if interested ask about 75 min.
